Sweet Home Alabama

I went straight from our US Team Training Camp at Copper Mtn. last week where winter returned, dumping six inches of fresh pow on our last day, to one-hundred degree Alabama with insane humidity. I was touring University of Alabama Birmingham all day Tuesday sweating bullets in my suit while meeting with the transplant teams and different units of the hospital recognizing the great job they’re doing in increasing organ donation. I helped kick off Team Alabama’s Donor Awareness initiative and fund raising campaign for the 2006 Transplant Games in Louisville, Kentucky. Lots of media attended and together we got the donor message and ‘Road to Louisville & Torino’ messages heard! I’m looking forward to attending my third transplant Games next June to celebrate my second chance together with the over fifteen hundred recipients and donor families. I wouldn’t miss it. All day Wednesday was spent at Camp Bridges on Lake Martin. Camp Bridges is an annual camp for transplant recipients. Over thirty were in attendance. It was an awesome group and fun time.I had a great training/testing camp at Copper. Great to see my teammates and coaches again and to be in the gates. I’m back home in Aspen for a few weeks now training and playing hard. I’ll head out to Oregon in early July to finalize my boards for the season and do some kiting and surfing. Hope you enjoyed the Indo Surf shots from my last update. Thanks for checking in. I’m hoping to luanch the new Chris Klug Foundation website end of this month. Stay tuned. I’ll keep ya posted. Enjoy the pics below and have a great summer! Talk to ya soon.CKTeam Alabama 2006 athletes and leaders kicking off their 2006 campaign!! We’re all going for Gold!
