Racing at Copper

I’m training hard at Copper Mtn. I enjoyed my thirty-fourth birthday yesterday by railing fast turns in the course. I’m still lovin’ it. The conditions are epic. We got dumped on in Colorado last week, but it has been cold and dry since, so the snow couldn’t be more epic for carving. I’ve been training hard, getting ready to race Monday and Tuesday here at Copper at the Copper Cup, the US alpine snowboard kick-off to the season. I’d love to get off to a fast start. I always love racing in Colorado, only a few hours from my home in Aspen. Aspen Mtn. opened yesterday, a week earlier than expected. I’ve had great success racing here in the past and would love to continue my streak of seven wins. My ankle is strong and my gear is dialed. I’m going to go out and compete and have some fun tomorrow. I’ll let ya know how it goes.
We hosted a Summit for Life event last week at Aspen High School. The AHS Outreach club is volunteering to help with our Dec. 2nd event. I hope you’ll join us. Out new site is live and ready for registration, www.summitforlife.org. Come hike or support a friend. If you don’t want to hike “Shoot the Stars” to the top for the party, dinner and live music. We’ll be in the Aspen gondola plaza all THanksgiving weekend signing people up and getting the word out. Come say hi.
I’m racing next two days at Copper, then heading home to Aspen to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Both my bros and their families are coming to town. Enjoy your holiday. Good luck for the start of your winter season. Go fast and take chances. Happy early Thanksgiving!
