Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race 2010

A short highlight video from the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race August 14th, 2010. I became the first ever transplant recipient to complete the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race. I loved the race; it was a fun challenge. I was proud of my time of eight hours forty minutes in my first attempt. I enjoyed training all summer with my Aspen friend to get ready, and then racing together. The Aspen Cycling Club weekly races were a great preparation, as well as the Triple By-pass in July. Thanks to my support team of family and friends; I could not have done it without you. Descending Powerline in the early morning shadows was gnarly and the climb up Columbine was nasty. I flatted coming down Columbine. I also crashed returning home when I dropped my water bottle. It’s a hardcore race, and a long day, but well worth it. You definitely experience some ups and downs throughout the race day. I can’t wait to do it again! Hope to see ya out there.
