Chile Training Camp 2005

Camp is going awesome. I’m having so much fun being back on my snowboard. The conditions are epic now for training. I’m so fired up about my new race boards, and really proud of the hard work I did this spring and summer with the Burton proto team making sure I was on the best equipment for this Olympic season. It’s paying off. Thanks guys for helping me get there! I’ve never been on better boards. The first day we arrived last week it dumped two feet of fresh. Best pow turns I’ve had since springtime in Aspen. What a start to our Chile training camp, an epic day of freshies! It has been warm and sunny since; the snow has consolidated and firmed up a bit. We trained on-snow four days last week before taking a day off in Santiago yesterday. El Colorado, the resort where we are training and living for three weeks, is at 10,000 ft. It’s important to go down to Santiago at a lower elevation every few days to allow our bodies to recover. I’m having to eat like a horse to keep the weight on up here, a strict daily diet of ice cream and Nutella! We did a double session today, giant slalom in the morning and slalom this aft. I’m stoked on my riding. I’m pretty spent now, so off to the sissy room to meet Matt this evening for some back work, followed by a little yoga stretch and a dinner feast with my teammates. Thanks for stoppin’ in. My computer crashed, but I’m improving to keep you updated. Stay tuned for training and surf shots from Chile ahead. Best wishes from Chile!CKChilean Sunset from El Colorado Resort above Santiago
