7th Place Mt. Bachelor FIS World Cup PGS

It was a brutal weather day for racing yesterday for the FIS Snowboard World Cup held at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon. I survived the fifty plus mile per hour winds and iced goggles to place seventh. I felt solid and was riding fast. I really wanted to climb onto the podium, but got eliminated by Bozzetto in the quarterfinals. In our first round I had to twice scrape the ice from my goggles mid run. It was a classic Bachelor race day. I learned to board on Mt. Bachelor twenty years ago and expected nothing less, but made a couple mistakes you can’t afford to make if you want to win! Hines Inniger from Switerland was the Men’s winner with Mathieu Bozzetto placing second and Urs Eiselin third! The women’s winner was Daniela Meuli, claiming her seventh victory of the season! My teammate Eric Warren from Bennington, VT took thirteenth and Stacia Hookem sixth.I’m relaxing today in Sisters, OR, where we reside for a few months in the summer, before traveling tomorrow to Bardonnechia, Italy for World Cup Finals there on the 2006 Olympic Hill. I love racing there. I’m looking forward to finishing the season with a great performance! Thank you to all of our friends and family that joined us at Bachelor and endured the blizzard cheering us on. You’re the best! Enjoy the pics. and I’ll keep ya posted from Italy!CK
