4th Anniversary Liver Transplant
Posted by admin on / 0 Comments
Today I celebrated my 4th ‘Liver Day,’ the 4th anniversary since my liver transplant in 2000. It feels like yesterday. It is hard to believe I was close to not making it just four years ago. I’m happy to be here today, healthier and stronger than ever before. I’m forever grateful to my donor family for my second chance, to my family and friends that stood by me through tough times, and to the entire University of Colorado Transplant Team. You all rule! Thank you!I’ve been training and playing hard here in Oregon the past few weeks! I was atop Mt. Hood testing boards last week. I love my new Burton Race boards. I’ve been enjoying some epic days kiting and surfing the Oregon Coast as well. I love it!I’m headed to the 2004 Transplant Games in Minneapolis, MN on Friday to participate in the closing ceremonies and to cheer on the over fifteen-hundred donor recipient athletes and donor families competing there and celebrating their second chances. It is an awesome event and a testement to the success of organ donation. I’ll try and put some shots up from the Games. Check out the NKF’s Transplant Gamessite for details and updates. Thanks for stopping in. Hope you’re enjoying a great summer. Play hard! Talk to ya soon! Thanks for your support!CK
