22nd at World Cup Finals in Italy

I finished 22nd at World Cup Finals last Sunday in Valmalenco, Italy. I felt fast going into the race, so was hoping for better. A slightly round line on my second run and strong wind didn’t help, but I did my best. It was a great event. I’m disappointed with the outcome, but sure enjoyed the race and riding experience. The snow conditions could not have been better. I love Valmalenco; they did an awesome job hosting World Cup Finals. The fireworks show ruled and I loved the Scottish band at Opening Ceremonies. Jacey Jay Anderson from Canada won the race. Congrats Jacey on a great season – I’m stoked for you. Sigi Grabner from Austria won the 2009 Globe. I finished the World Cup ranked 25th, securing my top thirty World Cup spot for next season.
This weekend I travel to Mont Tremblant, Quebec for NorAm Finals, the last races of the season. I have never ridden at Mont Tremblant, so looking forward to checking it out. My coach Missy is joining me in Quebec, so time to step it up. I’m feeling good on my boards and would like to finish the season strong. Winter has returned to Aspen this week with fresh snow the past days. I was out freeridding yesterday. I’m getting ready for the 9th Annual Aspen Klug Spring Snowboard Camp 2009 April 3-5th. I hope you will join us! It’s a perfect final tune-up for those competing at USASA Nationals at Copper or anyone hoping to improve their overall snowboarding skills. Some of my teammates and friends will be joining me to help coach the camp. It’s always a fun way to wrap up the season. One of my favorite things to do is share my snowboarding experiences and passion for the sport with others. April is Donate Life Month, so I’m on the road a lot the next month helping spread the word.Chris Klug Foundation is busy hosting events across the country this spring. I’m excited to do a lot of mountaineering and ridding in the high country this spring around Aspen while home. After NorAm Finals I’ll be sitting down this spring and taking a careful look at every component of my racing career and strategy for next winter. I’m dedicated to working as hard as I can this summer to have my best season next winter. I truly believe I can do it. Thanks for stopping by. Talk to ya from Mont Tremblant this weekend!
