Awesome New Zealand Adventure

i had an awesome training camp in New Zealand followed by a fun week of surf on the North Island. After two weeks down South in Wanaka, I met my wife in Auckland to celebrate our one year anniversary. We rented a camper van and toured the North Island of New Zealand on a surfari. It was fun to check out a new part of the world and ride some fun waves. I hadn’t been to New Zealand in almost fifteen years and had never checked out the North Island Coasts. New Zealand is a cool place, amazingly diverse. We explored the East and West Coasts. Kiwis are cool. We connected with my friend Ste’en who helped point us in the right direction. We shared some fun surf sessions together as well. I loved learning more about the Maori culture. Can’t wait to return.

I’m back in Oregon now and returning home to Aspen tomorrow. Sad to leave our Central Oregon friends, but excited to return home to Aspen. Looking forward to getting back and ready for October World Cup Opener ahead. I begin my seventeenth World Cup season healthy and fired up to ride fast. I was stoked on the camp in New Zealand.
