To The Edge And Back

Enjoy the Ride, Don't Take A Turn For Granted

Nendaz FIS World Cup Slalom

Posted by admin on January 28, 2007 3:16 pm / 0 Comments

I had a good slalom race today. I got off to a fast start on the first qualification run finishing second on the blue course. I had some problems on the second qualification run, but advanced to top sixteen for the head-to-head final in thirteenth position. Bummed I botched my second run after a fast first in the qualifier, but stoked I got in there. I raced World Champ Simon Schoch in the first round. We pretty much tied on the first run and were close in the second when I ejected off of a toe-side turn onto my head. Damn, I was riding fast and lovin’ it. The snow ruled and I felt like I could get it done, just got bounced by the eventual winner. Stoked my slalom is back and I’m riding confident again. We’ll get ‘em at next World Cup in Italy.

World’s didn’t go as well as I would have liked; I can certainly ride faster and will next weekend at Bardonecchia, Italy. I’ve raced in almost every World Champs since 1987 and this wasn’t my strongest performance. Guess I’ll have to stick around for another. We race this Friday on the ’06 Olympic hill. It has been a good hill to me. I podiumed there in 2004. I would love to have a fast race this year. I’m training in Bardonecchia all week.

I was in Park City last week with Saturn screening our new documentary “Ride of your Life.” We had a very positive response. We will be tweaking the film the next weeks and preparing for premiers in April during Donate Life Month. I’ll keep you posted on the schedule. In the meantime, check out the trailer on my site, “Ride of your Life.” Thakns for checking in. I’ll keep ya posted from Italy. Ciao,
