White Rim and the White House

Wednesday I visited the White House with the 2010 US Olympic Team. I met the President and Mrs. Obama. I got a big hug from Mrs. Obama; I like her style. The Pres was cool. We got a group photo with the Obama’s and the Snowboard Team. The President even posed in his best surf, snowboard stance. It was classic Silver Surfer. I loved touring the White House and checking out all the artwork and different rooms. I had a chance in 1998 to meet President Clinton and George Bush in 2002. I was proud to have the opportunity to meet the Obamas. We started the day out with a tour of the capital and a visit to Colorado Senator Mark Udall’s office with the Colorado Olympians. We finished the day with dinner at the Supreme Court. I saw such amazing things.

Last week I rode the White Rim with Missy and a bunch of friends. Being back on my mtn. bike again and in the desert was awesome. We had perfect weather, nearly eighty degrees each day. We went on some fun hikes. What a great way to recover from being on the road all winter.

Yesterday I drove with my friends from Baltimore to the Outer Banks, NC for a few days of kiting here the next week. Even though it was small this morning, I had a fun surf session in front of our house. I was stoked to be back in the water. The swell and wind are supposed to pick up tomorrow – should be fun kiting ahead. It’s winter again at home. I’m happy to take a break. Enjoy!
