Russia Slalom World Cup

We raced a FIS World Cup Slalom Friday outside Moscow, Russia. It was freezing, minus thirty celsius, felt like the North Pole. It was a shock after the spring like weather we’ve been enjoying in Europe. We got tossed right back into winter. Despite the cold, it was a good race. The host resort, Shukolovo, was miniture. There were a couple short t-bars and about three hundred vertical feet. It was like racing in the Mid West. The snow was good and the race hill just long enough for a slalom. I had a fast first qualifying run, finishing third. I was well positioned for the second qualification run and was off to a fast start, but got off track half way down and my day was over. I’m riding fast and aggressive, but gotta keep it on track and make it to the finish line twice for it to count. Marc Iselin was the winner, Matthew Morison second and Rok Flander third.

I’m home in Aspen for a day washing my clothes, seeing my wife, and repacking to head to Japan. I travel to Sapporo for a FIS World Cup PGS Feb. 16th. Three World Cup PGS’s ahead. I’m ready to rip. I’ll keep you posted from Japan. Thanks for stoppin’ in. Enjoy the photos from Moscow.
