Merry Christmas!

I returned home to Aspen this afternoon from VT. I’m happy to be home, relaxing and getting ready for the holiday with my family. It’s my favorite time of the year. I’m looking forward to relaxing, freeriding, and recharging for a fast January ahead. Quebec went alright. The first day of racing was good, the second a bit disappointing. I exited in the first round in the first race against Philip Schoch from Switzerland, who went on to win. I was really pleased with my riding, just fell in the middle of my first run. It’s hard to overcome the penalty against Schoch, but I gave it my all and made up a gate. I didn’t attack the qualifier enough the second day, failing to advanced to the second run. I finished seventeenth in my course and my day was over. I was bummed. Ideally you don’t want to finish in tenth place or beyond after your first run anyway. I didn’t ride my best and I missed a good opportunity on the second day to strenghen my Olympic qualification standing. That means I’ve got more work in January. I’ll get it done. I’ve been down this road before. No one knows this position like me. Remember I qualified for the 2002 Games at the eleventh hour and went on to win Bronze. We can do it again, there’s no doubt in my mind. I’m riding the best of my life now, I just have to go do it at the next World Cups in January. Both races are on hills I love. I finalized my 2002 Olympic spot on the Kreishberg, Austria hill, host of our next World Cup Jan. 8th. I won my first World Cup post-transplant six months after my operation in Olang, Italy where we race our second and final PGS World Cup before the 2006 Games Jan. 15th. Don’t bet against me. I like my odds. The Olympic qualification process is always hardcore, but it’s also kind of fun. I know I can do it again. I’m going to train a little after Christmas here in Aspen and get ready to head back to Europe Jan. 2nd. Thanks for all your support and fast thoughts. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas. Enjoy your holiday. Talk to ya soon,CKRosey Fletcher from AK, ripping in Quebec en route to a six place finish in PGS number two at Le Relais. Rosey was the top American finisher the second day. Nice work Rosey. Keep it up. Photo courtesy of FIS.
